My fascination with fences began long before I ever dreamt of starting my own company. As a young boy, I was captivated by the idea of strong boundaries safeguarding homes and creating a sense of security. Little did I know that this fascination would evolve into a lifelong passion and a fulfilling career in the world of fencing.

Meet John Powers: The Fence Maestro!

Hey there! I’m John Powers, but you can just call me the Fence Whisperer. My love affair with fences started way before most of my other love stories (sorry, skateboarding!😂). Picture this: a young boy, me, staring in wonder at strong boundaries, dreaming of the homes they protected and the sense of security they provided. Fast forward a few decades, and here I am, turning that childhood fascination into a real-life fencing empire.

Now, before we dive into the nitty-gritty of my journey through the world of fencing and construction, here’s a little more about the man behind the legend:

Hometown Vibes: Born and bred in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, I now hang my hat (and my skateboard) in Raleigh. Love this city!🥰
University Days: NC State University sharpened my skills and broadened my horizons. Go Wolfpack!
Marital Bliss: Tied the knot with the lovely Joy Powers on October 7, 2013. She’s my rock!
Words to Live By: “If you are going through hell, keep going.” – Winston Churchill. A quote that’s gotten me through thick and thin.
Kick, Push & Coast: When I’m not building fences or scaling the corporate ladder, I’m cruising on my skateboard, reminiscing about my younger, wilder days.

Now, let’s get down to business – my journey in the professional realm:

From the Ground Up: I kick-started my career as a Senior Project Manager at Seegars Fence Co. The grind, the hustle, the joy – this was where it all began.
Moving on Up: Entered Evergreen Foam and Insulation in 2011 and spent a thrilling 3 years as their Residential Sales Director. But wait, there’s more! Advanced to the role of Director of Commercial Sales, handling just about everything from client management to the nitty-gritty of contract negotiations for nearly 3 years.
Making Big Moves: 2017 was quite the year! Started off as the Commercial Director at Robco Fence. Eight months of strategizing, developing, and, of course, fencing. Later that year, I donned the hat of an Estimator at David Allen Company, Inc. in Raleigh, navigating the fascinating world of bids, estimates, and everything in between.

After this whirlwind tour through my life, I bet you’re thinking, “Man, this guy REALLY loves fences!” And you’d be right. Whether it’s a picket fence or a high-security boundary any fence installations you’ve bet, I’ve been there, done that, and am always eager for the next fencing challenge.
